CTI SonarWiz Supports NOAA Survey Guidelines

Chesapeake Technology Inc. (CTI) announced new features have been added to its flagship software SonarWiz to support the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) survey guidelines.

Surveys which are required to document sonar imagery and contacts (targets) in compliance with NOAA guidelines may be performed easily with the Chesapeake Technology, Inc. SonarWiz software. This added capability simplifies the survey operation for collecting data to meet the NOAA guidelines, reducing processing time and contact archiving and reporting. There are two specific areas of specific compliance where SonarWiz excels: 1) creating a set of contacts (targets) with NOAA contact naming convention, and 2) presenting sonar imagery with a range-restriction when towfish altitude drops below 8% of sonar range. For NOAA and survey companies doing NOAA survey work they now have software that is specifically focused on the NOAA survey guidelines and this simplifies the task of adhering to the guidelines to generate the required deliverables. This will be both a time and cost saver for users.

CTI has been offering custom software and hardware solutions to the marine geophysical and seafloor mapping industry for over 20 years. Through its developments in marine surveying technology & solutions, CTI has become the standard for Navies, government agencies, survey companies and universities around the world.
