Teledyne’s 2014 UTS Focus on Shallow Water Surveys

The Teledyne Marine Acoustic Imaging Group, consisting of RESON, BlueView and Odom Hydrographic, will host its Underwater Technology Seminars (UTS) in Hamburg, Boston and Singapore. These events follow 2014’s first UTS seminar which has already taken place in Qiandao Lake, April 15-16 in China with more than 115 delegates participating.

At the three-day seminars in Hamburg and Boston the theme is “Hydrography in Harbors and Inland Waters as well as Dredge Guidance and Construction Support”. Over the years TMAIG have developed a broad product portfolio that covers all aspects of hydrographic, dredging and construction work within harbors and shallow water inland applications. Organizers have invited a selection of industry speakers to tell their stories and share their experiences and results with attendees at the paper sessions.

Each event is designed around three main components: paper presentations presented by industry experts, hands-on classroom training and live demo workshops. During the classroom training and live demo workshops, attendees will have an up-close experience with the latest software releases of PDS2000, ProViewer, ProMapper and other industry leading software suppliers, as well as in-depth training in Teledyne’s range of shallow water echosounder and sonar systems. Teledyne has also planned entertainment events hospitality arrangements, providing a favorable platform to mingle with other attendees in an informal environment.

“We are continually considering ways in which we can improve our seminars and have meticulously incorporated feedback from participants in 2013. This year we will offer an interesting insight into the world of technical and business opportunities that arise from Multibeam Echosounders, 2D Forward Looking Sonars and 3D Mechanical Scanning Sonars used for shallow water surveys.

Tim Lysholt Jensen, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, added, “Furthermore, we will provide sonar operation and multibeam theory training as well as special software workshops to optimize content for participants in the training sessions.”

The UTS events in 2014 follows ones held in 2013 in Shanghai, Copenhagen and Austin, where Teledyne brought together nearly 300 users and decision makers worldwide from more than 45 countries. In 2014, orgainzers expect to attract more than 400 attendees to the three remaining Underwater Technology Seminars in Hamburg, Boston and Singapore.

  • UTS Hamburg - September 16-18
  • UTS Boston - October 7-9
  • UTS Singapore - December 1
