Calecore, N-Sea to Continue Survey Work in Barents Sea
Calesurvey, Calecore’s Offshore Geophysical division has seen steady increase in demand over the past two years for ROV Survey Services. In June, WROV operations were undertaken onboard the Kommandor Calum for a project West of Shetland whilst the Kommandor Stuart has been undertaking multiple integrated 2DHR, ROV and seabed testing and sampling campaigns offshore Northern Norway. The Siem Stork will today replace the Kommandor Stuart.

Cameron Announces Second Quarter Earnings
Cameron; a provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries; reported earnings per share for the second quarter of 2014 of $1.00 excluding unusual items. This compares to earnings per share for the second quarter of 2013 of $0.77 excluding unusual items. The unusual items for the second quarter of 2014 were after-tax credits of $0.02 per share and a $0.06 per share gain from discontinued operations.

MacArtney Mooring Winch for MBARI
MBARI (Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute) has recently selected a MacArtney MERMAC SC mooring winch solution to empower the deployment and recovery of scientific moorings onboard MBARI vessels R/V Western Flyer and the R/V Rachel Carson. The new mooring winch represents the second MacArtney winch system in operation with MBARI, adding to a MacArtney ROV and AUV tether management winch system in operation on R/V Rachel Carson.

North Sea Atlantic Joins the Technip fleet

Hydro Group: Invest in the Future
Figures published earlier this year show that Scotland’s current levels of youth unemployment (16-24-year-olds) is at 853,000 – 18.8 percent – more than double that of the average age working population. According to Sir Ian Woods’s new report, Scotland's vocational education system must be improved if youth unemployment is to fall. He launched the report aimed at getting more young Scots into work recommending that employers play a far bigger role in schools and colleges.

Statoil, Repsol, ExxonMobil Win Colombian Offshore License
Statoil announced today that it has been awarded interest in the COL4 license offshore Colombia in the Caribbean Sea in the 2014 Colombia Licensing Round, along with Respol and ExxonMobil. Statoil said it will hold 33.33% in the license, while Repsol will be the operator of the license and will hold 33.34% and ExxonMobil Exploration Colombia will hold 33.33%. The award is subject to the final approval of the National Hydrocarbons Agency of Colombia (ANH).

USCG Searching for Missing Diver
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing 59-year-old diver off the coast of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Station Gloucester launched a rescue crew aboard a 29-foot small boat and Air Station Cape Cod launched a search and rescue crew aboard a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter after watchstanders at the Sector Boston Command Center received notification at about 10:30 a.m. from the man's family stating he was overdue.

TIW Delivers Safety Valves to MWCC
TIW Corporation has announced the completion and delivery of two large diameter Ball Type Safety Valves to Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) for use with its expanded containment system. The class II Ball-Type Hurricane Valve is a custom valve design derived from the well-proven TIW Kelly Valve used for drilling operations worldwide. The valves will become a component of MWCC’s containment system for the capture of fluids from an uncontained subsea well in water depths up to 10,000 feet.

McDermott Awarded Megalodon Platform Installation
McDermott International, Inc. announced today that one of its subsidiaries was awarded a contract to provide transportation and installation services to Walter Oil & Gas Corporation for the Megalodon platform destined for South Timbalier Block 311 in the Gulf of Mexico. The project is expected to be included in McDermott’s third quarter 2014 backlog. McDermott will provide all materials and equipment to transport and install the six-pile platform in 391 feet of water, over an existing well site.

Treasure Hauled from SS Central America Shipwreck
Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. has placed operational reports and inventories of items recovered from the SS Central America shipwreck site on the company's website at shipwreck.net/ssca.php. These items were initially filed under seal in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk Division. Chief U.S. District Judge Rebecca Beach Smith has allowed the reports to be unsealed and made available to the public.

EU Adriatic and Ionian Strategy Targets Blue Growth
Better cooperation between countries in the Adriatic and Ionian regions is needed to address shared challenges and better exploit joint opportunities, the EU Fisheries department said today in a statement. The strategy was officially launched in June 2014 to help facilitate this coordination while also helping the regions' 70 million citizens to benefit from a boost in the maritime economy, the preservation of the marine environment, stronger transport and energy links and increased tourism.

KCA Deutag Secures $170m Contract in Angola
International drilling and engineering contractor, KCA Deutag, has been awarded a $170 million contract by Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, S.A., for the provision of the Ben Rinnes jack-up rig in Angola. The two-year agreement, which comes with a two-year extension option, will see KCA Deutag’s offshore division provide drilling and completion services, in various offshore locations in Angola. The contract will employ approximately 100 people, the majority of whom will be Angolan nationals.

C&C Technologies Wins NOAA Survey Contract
C & C Technologies has been awarded a new five-year contract by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to perform hydrographic surveys throughout U.S. coastal waters. “Our work with NOAA began in 1998 surveying San Francisco Bay near Alcatraz Island and the Oakland Bay Bridge,” stated Thomas Chance, President of C & C Technologies, Inc. This is now the third five-year survey contract NOAA has awarded to C & C.

TerraSond Awarded 5-year NOAA Survey Contract
TerraSond has been selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to provide hydrographic surveying services anywhere in the U.S under a new five-year contract, the company announced today. Under the new contract beginning in 2015, TerraSond will provide comprehensive, modern hydrographic surveys in assigned areas to support NOAA’s nautical charting mission, which includes the updating of charts in critical areas for navigation safety.
