Analox Launches Updated Hypergas Mk3 at IMCA Global Summit
Gas sensing and monitoring provider Analox is set to unveil its new Hypergas Mk3 at the IMCA Global Summit in Antwerp this month, marking a milestone in the development of one of the company's longest-standing products.
Developed over two years, Hypergas Mk3 has been designed to meet the needs of the commercial diving industry. The unit analyzes hydrocarbons within diving bell environments, where monitoring is critical to supporting safe diving operations. The unit must deliver accurate readings under extreme pressure and atmospheric conditions, including environments with high concentrations of helium. These conditions place demanding requirements on gas sensing technology.
Hypergas Mk3 combines new sensing and detection technologies with updated mechanical, electronic and software architectures. The upgraded unit is easier to maintain than previous models, with the design shaped by customer feedback.
One of the key developments is the move from six-monthly servicing by Analox towards an annual servicing schedule that customers can carry out themselves using the new generation of sensing and service components. This means units can be serviced onboard vessels rather than being returned to Analox, helping to reduce servicing costs, downtime and operational disruption.
Hypergas Mk3 also retains compatibility with existing topside repeaters and mechanical and electrical interfaces, helping customers transition from the previous model without unnecessary changes to their installations.
The updated unit supports MODBUS RTU, allowing it to connect with common third-party systems and supporting integration with vessel systems. The product has been designed to meet the same safety standards as its predecessor.
Analox is also exploring proactive service options to help customers plan maintenance, improve equipment availability and reduce disruption to diving operations.
