Optics11, the Dutch deep-tech company focused on passive fiber-optic sensing for underwater intelligence and energy grids, announced the appointment of Brontë Hamilton as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Hamilton joins Optics11 from European defense technology company Destinus, where she served as Group CFO. She brings more than 25 years of international experience spanning defense, industrial technology, military intelligence and financial leadership, including senior executive positions at TE Connectivity and SubCom.

Originally from Australia, Hamilton spent 15 years as an officer in the Australian Army, rising to the rank of Major and serving in operational and intelligence roles in Afghanistan and Iraq. She subsequently built an international career in corporate finance and strategy, holding senior positions including VP of Finance and CFO of TE Connectivity's Sensors business, and VP of Strategy and Business Development. Her expertise spans capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, financial transformation and scaling businesses across international markets.

Her appointment comes as Optics11 enters a new phase of growth, driven by increasing European demand for advanced underwater surveillance and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure.

"Protection has been a common thread throughout my career. From my time in the military to working in defense, I've always believed in the importance of protecting the infrastructure that our world depends on," said Hamilton. "That's what makes joining Optics11 so meaningful to me. It's a chance to bring my experience to a company whose mission reflects something I genuinely care about.”
