Subsea 7, FLASC Get BEIS Grant for PowerBundle Offshore Energy Storage System

Offshore installation giant Subsea 7 and its technology partner FLASC have won  £471,760 (~$631,854) grant from the UK government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to further develop an innovative offshore energy storage system.Funding has been awarded as part of the Longer Duration Energy Storage (LODES) Competition.  The competition recognizes the transition to increasing wind-generated renewable energy, which presents growing opportunities for storage systems that support a secure, flexible, and reliable electrical power supply.The PowerBundle concept

Floating Wind Project Gains Funding for Pilot

The U.K.’s Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has granted £10 million for the design and construction of a new floating wind turbine demonstrator off the coast of Scotland.The SENSE PelaStar project will feature SENSEWind’s turbine self-installation system, the PelaStar tension leg platform (TLP) floating foundation from Glosten and Subsea Micropile anchors. UK Govt Backs Aberdeen Subsea Engineering Hub

UK Spurs Autonomous Shipping Development
