Pioneering Spirit Completes Infield Pipelay Work at BP’s LNG Scheme
Allseas’ construction vessel Pioneering Spirit has completed the infield pipelay scope for BP’s ultra-deepwater Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) liquified natural gas project offshore Mauritania and Senegal. Two months after arriving in the field, production crew welded, scanned and field joint coated the final piece of pipe for the second 16-inch export gas line.Safely landed in a 2-metre target box at 2400-meter water depth, the pipeline will be recovered in J-mode configuration to install the termination assembly. To make this happen, the vessel aft has been fitted with a bespoke J-mode frame
ABB to Power Chevron's Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) Project in Australia
Chevron's multi-billion-dollar Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) project, offshore W. Australia. The Jansz-Io field is located around 200 kilometers offshore the north-western coast of Australia, at water depths of approximately 1,400 meters. The field is a part of the Chevron-operated Gorgon natural gas project, one of the world’s largest natural gas developments. Sanctioned by Chevron last month, the J-IC project, which moves gas from the deep seas to shore, marks only the third time that this type of subsea compression technology is being deployed globally and the first time outside
