ABL Gets Neptun Deep Job for OMV Petrom in Black Sea

OMV Petrom has appointed global energy and marine consultancy ABL to provide Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services for the construction of Romania’s Neptun Deep gas field project in the Black Sea.ABL’s London operation has won the contract to provide MWS services to review, survey and approve all operations relating to the transportation and installation (T&I) of critical project assets for development of both Domino and Pelican South fields.ABL’s scope of work includes the T&I of the shallow water platform, subsea installation at both fields including a 160 km subsea pipeline

Construction Vessel Delivered to Eidesvik

Eidesvik Offshore has taken delivery of Viking Neptun, an offshore construction vessel from Kleven Verft AS. According to Eidesvik Offshore, TBN Viking Neptun represents its largest ever investment in the subsea segment. A long-term loan facility of $124 million has been drawn with Nordea and Eksportkreditt Norway/GIEK to finance the vessel. The vessel, equipped with Reach ROVs and manned by Eidesvik marine personnel and Reach ROV personnel and engineers, will begin a contract with Technip in March 2015. Viking Neptun Delivered for Technip

Viking Neptun was delivered from Kleven Verft to Eidesvik on February 17, and the naming ceremony was held in Stavanger on February 28. The vessel’s Godmother, Patricia Pilenko, broke the champagne bottle on Viking Neptun, which will now start operating on charter for Technip in the North Sea. The offshore construction vessel is the largest in Eidesvik’s fleet, and the largest ever built by Kleven Verft.
