Norbit recently supplied an iWBMSh Integrated Multibeam Survey Systems to Peel Ports Group.This latest generation sonar tech is providing survey capability both to its Mersey based Survey Vessel ‘Royal Charter’ plus their upcoming delivery of an L3Harris ASV Ltd vehicle.The Norbit iWBMSh now commissioned on the Royal Charter has replaced the vessels previously installed multibeam system.With the vessel now delivering high quality bathymetric and backscatter hydrographic data, Peel Ports have additionally installed a Norbit iLiDAR laser scanner to provide further survey capability in its

Partners Eye Autonomous Vessel Technology for UK Ports

Peel Ports Group and ASV Global (ASV) have launched a partnership which will develop the use of autonomous vessel technology for U.K. port operations.The partnership kick-started with a visit from ASV’s team to the Port of Liverpool, to demonstrate the C-Cat-3, an autonomous vessel ideal for shallow survey operations.The C-Cat 3 operated in Brocklebank Dock carrying out seabed survey using a Norbit iWBMS multibeam echo sounder.The successful demonstration has led Peel Ports Group to explore the possibility of using the technology at its other sites throughout the U.K.Peel Ports will facilitate

Kalmar SmartLane Automated Gate System for Liverpool Port

  Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver Kalmar SmartLane automated gate system to Port of Liverpool, operated by Peel Ports Group. The new system will reduce waiting times and administration for hauliers, resulting in faster turnaround. The implementation is scheduled to be completed by early 2015.
