Allspeeds Delivers 'Largest' Webtool Cutter to Ashtead Technology
Hydraulic tool maker Allspeeds said Thursday it had supplied a Webtool HCV330 hydraulic cutter to subsea equipment rental firm Ashtead Technology.According to the company, this is the largest Webtool cutter manufactured so far, and is designed to cut large diameter umbilicals and subsea power cables up to 330mm.It will add to the fleet of high-performing subsea cutting technologies that Ashtead Technology already has for the offshore energy sector."Advances in subsea power cables mean they are now larger in diameter and better armored. The Webtool HCV330 allow the cables to be cut cleanly in a
Acteon's Benthic Set to Launch Next-gen Portable Remotely Operated Drill PROD5
Benthic, an Acteon geotechnical services and technology firm, is set to launch the next generation of its portable, remotely operated drill: PROD5, also aimed at increasing productivity and cutting costs for the offshore renewable energy industry.PROD5, Benthic says, has radical new functionality, including nearly double the tool load of previous systems and a drill enhancement package (DEP).“PROD5 is designed to provide customers with the superior geotechnical data they need, in challenging environments, with greater productivity, to enable offshore energy transition projects specifical
Sercel Launches Seabed Node for Shallow Water Seismic Acquisition
Sercel, part of the French seismic data firm CGG, on Wednesday launched GPR300, a seabed nodal seismic acquisition solution designed for deployment in shallow waters down to depths of 300 meters."Developed in partnership with BGP, the new solution expands Sercel’s existing GPRNT range which includes GPR1500 for high-end deepwater subsurface imaging," Sercel said.According to Sercel, the compact and lightweight GPR300 features Sercel’s QuietSeis broadband digital sensor technology for ultra-quiet performance and "unmatched digital fidelity.""Its ability to record
Bosch Rexroth Presents "Disruptive" Electric Subsea Valve Actuator
to ensure the reliable operation of the actuators. Up until now, Bosch Rexroth says, the operators of process systems have mainly relied on hydraulic cylinders in order to open and close subsea valves with a quarter turn and a defined force. With offshore installations, for example for oil and gas production, these cylinders are supplied by a central hydraulic power unit with hydraulic pipes several kilometers in length. This solution uses a great deal of energy in order to compensate for the cumulated losses and it cannot control the movement with precision, the company explains."To date
Ace Oil Tools Introduces Ace Splice Clamp
The oil and gas technology company Ace Oil Tools has launched its new Ace Splice Clamp to the completions market.Allowing multiple lines to be spliced with a single clamp, the ASC is a ‘sub-less’ downhole product that protects the control lines during completion, the company said."Combining the functionality of a shrouded crimp clamp, for locking flatpacks, with a splice sub into one single product, the Ace Splice Clamp accepts a flat-pack control line assembly," Ace Oil Tools said.According to the company, the design protects bare control lines and houses the splice blocks.
