SMD Delivers Pre-Lay Plow to Boskalis

U.K.-based manufacturer Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) said it handed over a purpose-built pre-lay plow to marine service providers Boskalis, for use at Ørsted’s offshore wind farm Hornsea Two.The multifunctional pre-lay plow will be used to install 380 kilometers of export cables which will ultimately connect Hornsea Two’s offshore substation to the site’s onshore substation in Killingholme, Lincolnshire.Once complete, Hornsea Two will host an array of 165 wind turbines, each standing over 190 meters above sea level. Boskalis Orders SMD Pre-lay Plough

Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) announced it has signed a contract to supply a 200Te Multi-Mode Pre-lay Plough to marine service provider Boskalis N.V.Set for delivery in spring 2020, the Pre Lay Plough comes with SMD’s latest surface control equipment which will be mobilized on the bridge of a Boskalis specialist trenching vessel.The Multi-Mode Pre Lay Plough is an member of SMD's power cable installation and protection product range and is available with configurations for trenching and backfill. SMD Delivers Cable Burial Tractor to Boskalis

Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) said it has delivered an ultra-high powered, compact 2,400 horsepower Cable Burial Tractor (CBT2400) to Boskalis.The CBT2400 and associated deck equipment were mobilized directly onto Boskalis’ specialist cable lay vessel, the Ndeavor from the Swan Hunter quayside access point adjacent to SMD’s production facility. SMD to Supply Work Class ROV to China

 Subsea equipment design and manufacturer Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) has signed a contract to supply its Atom Mk1 1000m 100hp Work Class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) system to Chinese power specialist China Southern Power Extra High Voltage Power Transmission Company (EHV, CSG), a subsidiary of the state-owned China Southern Power Grid (CSG).    The ROV will be used for inspection of the 31km physical power cable connections in the Qiongzhou Strait between Hainan Island and mainland China.
