GEG Wraps Up Subsea7 Fabrication Scope for Aker BP’s Valhall PWP - Fenris Field

Global Energy Group (GEG) has completed the fabrication of two towheads at the Port of Nigg on behalf of Subsea7, for the Aker BP Valhall PWP - Fenris field in the southern North Sea.The two towheads come complete with equipment interface support frames and buoyancy tank interface frames.The 66 tn towheads, which are 15 m long and 6 m wide, were manufactured in the Port of Nigg’s 17,000 sqm fabrication facility, before having final painting and coatings completed, ahead of their departure from the site by road."We are happy to have executed this project for our valued client Subsea7. Perenco Decommissions Subsea Infrastructure at North Sea Field

Perenco has completed the plug and abandonment of three subsea wells at the Gawain field in the UK Southern North Sea, including the removal of the associated subsea infrastructure.The project was completed without incident, despite the challenging conditions encountered when operating in winter in the Southern North Sea, Perenco said.Perenco worked in collaboration with its specialist contractors and utilizing a jack-up vessel equipped with an air-based diving and ROV spread to allow for rig-based diving.The campaign lasted over 160 days and included over 340 air dives, with the completion of this

DOF Secures $13M Offshore Wind Export Cable Repair Job

Norwegian offshore vessel operator DOF Group has been awarded a contract by an international energy operator to repair an export cable for an offshore wind farm in Southern North Sea.The project includes the retrieval of the damaged cable and termination, installation, trenching and commissioning of the replacement cable.DOF’s contract scope includes project management, engineering, procurement and logics of cable and all associated equipment as well as the complete offshore works.Preparations have already commenced from DOF’s expert cable team across Aberdeen, Scotland and Bergen, Norway.

Rovco Completes Decom Deal with Well-Safe Solutions

Rovco completed a contract awarded by Well-Safe Solutions to support its well plug and abandonment decommissioning operations in the Southern North Sea. This is the second contract Rovco has secured with Well-Safe Solutions, having previously performed survey work on an abandoned subsea wellhead in UK waters in 2021.During the project, which mobilized in July, Rovco provided Well-Safe Solutions with field survey operations, to decommission a platform which ceased production in 2015. New WaveNet Data Shows Record UK Sea Temperatures

Sea temperatures across the south and east of England hit record breaking levels this summer, new data published by Cefas shows.The data provided by WaveNet shows that sites in Tyne/Tees (off the Yorkshire coast), Dowsing, Southwold, Gabbard (in the southern North sea), South Knock (Thames estuary) and Hastings (in the English Channel) and around to Poole Bay in the Western Channel have reached new highs. Fugro Inspecting Cygnus Subsea Structures

Dutch offshore geo-data specialist Fugro will deploy remote monitoring technology to survey subsea structures at the Cygnus gas field in the UK’s southern North Sea.Under the contract awarded by oil and gas company Neptune Energy, Fugro will inspect subsea infrastructure including pipelines and umbilicals, spools and communication cables, and carry out standard structural surveys of the Neptune-operated Cygnus gas platform jackets.The giant gas development was brought online in late 2016 and consists of four platforms. Neptune operates Cygnus with 38.75% stake, with Spirit Energy owning 61.25%.
