Lloyds Register (LR) Energy and LR Senergy plan to conduct a survey covering particular issues that threaten the future of the North Sea at ONS 2014.

The key issues, decided upon during an oil and gas executive dinner between the two companies, include: knowledge shortage, decommissioning, supply chain, operating costs and technology.

Co-exhibiting for the first time since the two companies joined forces at Offshore Europe 2013, LR Senergy and LR Energy are inviting visitors to their ONS stand to share their views on the existing industry challenges. The results will be conveyed into a corresponding online campaign, scheduled to run for two weeks after Norway’s flagship energy conference. The results will then be analyzed and published.

Claus Myllerup, LR Energy’s Senior VP of Energy Technology, said, “These issues have been debated and reviewed but through our survey, we aim to engage with the wider global industry and, together with LR Energy, use the findings to shape a collaborative overview and informed industry voice.”

James McCallum, LR Senergy’s CEO, said: “We hope the campaign will be a catalyst for ongoing industry engagement which produces constructive and tangible results. Through attracting people at all levels and across all sectors in the industry from around the world, ONS provides an ideal platform to do this and we would encourage people to participate.”

The survey highlights LR Group’s ethos behind their LR Senergy investment. One main collaboration factor is the ability LR Senergy brings to provide a broader service portfolio to the reservoir to refinery sector of the energy industry.

LR Senergy will continue operating as an independent company until 2016.

LR Energy will be exhibiting at ONS alongside LR Senergy on Stand 38, as well as in the outside arena on Stand U34.
