The EGS Group has been awarded a long term contract by Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production Ltd for offshore geophysical data acquisition services in the Gulf of Thailand. EGS will be responsible for providing a suite of survey equipment and personnel onto a dedicated survey vessel. The first call-out under this geophysical survey services contract has just been successfully completed during July/August 2013.

EGS’s Project Manager for the work Kobi Braendli commented that the duration of the contract had allowed EGS to commit to the purchase of a range of new equipment including the latest R2 Sonic high resolution multibeam, Edgetech digital side scan systems and Applied Acoustic sub-bottom profiling equipment and peripherals which will be stationed in Songkhla for the duration of the contract.

EGS’s CEO Chris Welsh confirmed that the Chevron contract award was the latest in a series of oil and gas survey contract awards this year following awards from Oil Search PNG, INPEX Indonesia and Origin Energy in Australia totaling in excess of $10 million.
