HYDRALIGHT Optical Enables Deep Sea Communications

TE Connectivity (TE) will be at the 2016 Subsea Tieback Forum and Exhibition (SSTB 2016). TE’s will showcase the latest subsea optical connection solutions that provide reliable communications over long distances underwater, including the SEACON HYDRALIGHT optical underwater mateable connector series.

Used for high-speed communications, production control, pumping systems, riser and permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM) systems, the HYDRALIGHT series is an eight-channel, fully underwater mateable, oil-filled, pressure-balanced and reliable connector qualified to 7,000 meters. This connector has a design life of 30 years and a minimum of 100mate/de-mates and meets “Optical Wet-Mate Connector Specifications” for Norsk Hydro, Statoil, Elf Exploration, Total, Hess and BP.

TE customers will find one of the widest array of connectors, wire & cable and sensor solutions for subsea applications. We support both dry-mate connectors for permanent use in equipment and wet-mate connectors for subsea mate-ability.

With design lifetimes counted in decades, our connectors, cables and sensors withstand the harsh environment pressures, temperatures and other hazards of offshore exploration and development.

SEACON is part of the growing portfolio of brands that make up TE within the marine oil and gas market, which also includes brands such as DEUTSCH Offshore, Rochester Wire & Cable, and Raychem. These brands will also be featured at the booth.

TE’s engineers will be available for interviews at its booth throughout the show.
