IKM Instrutek AS – DNV-GL and Lloyds Approved

IKM Instrutek AS is a sales and service supplier of test and measurement instruments. for electrical, electronics, automation, condition monitoring, maritime navigation and communication and calibration. As a full partner, IKM Instrutek offers its products and services to the industry, marine and offshore, installers, energy suppliers, technical training schools and public service. The Norwegian company has about 60 employees, a turnover approximately NOK 200 million and is part of the IKM Group with 2,900 employees and a turnover NOK 4.5 billion.

In the field of condition monitoring there are several ways and technologies to ensure best possible uptime of your rotating machinery, IKM Instrutek said. Reliability of rotating machinery is crucial to maintain safe and economic operation over a long period of time. Predictive condition based monitoring of vibration data together with oil monitoring and analysis of these data will ensure early warnings often unobserved until it is too late. By implementing such systems users will be able to plan safe and optimized maintenance of the equipment ensuring to save costs and maximize uptime.

IKM Instrutek said that to ensure that all procedures are followed, and ensuring that interpretation of vibration data is done correctly, it is not enough to only have individuals that have experience in the field. It is of great importance that both the individuals and the company carrying out such services have been thoroughly audited by classification societies. This means that individuals carrying out the services and analysis, the management and the company itself can prove their competence and compliance to the requirement of such services. Equally important is that it is a third party who has no interest in the equipment itself that can carry out such services.

IKM Instrutek AS announced that it was approved by DNV-GL in 2013, and as of May 2014 the company was certified by Lloyds Register as well.
