Offshore Engineering Consulting: Pelagian & Pioneer in J/V

Owned and operated by two international leaders in offshore engineering expertise, Pelagian and Pioneer Consulting  announce their new joint venture: 'P2 Offshore Consulting'.

Currently attending the AWEA Offshore WINDPOWER 2013 Conference & Exhibition Providence, R.I., Peter Fisk, a co-owner of the company, stated: “The U.S. offshore wind farm market presents an attractive opportunity for us to bring our expertise and track record from many years of working in other offshore wind markets around the world and offer proven subsea power cable consultancy services and personnel. Pioneer's complementary expertise and physical presence close to the market made it an obvious fit for a joint venture partner.”

“We have been monitoring the U.S., offshore renewables market for some years,” added Howard Kidorf, also a co-owner, “and we are excited by its gathering momentum. We have worked with Pelagian for many years and know that their past accomplishments are a springboard for offering future services. The experience contained within our JV will help developers, Balance of Plant suppliers, and marine contractors reduce project risk and contribute to the speedy development of this new sector.”

Pelagian is an established consultancy specialising in the design and construction of submarine cable systems and has been actively involved in many of the world’s major projects in the telecommunications, power, and renewable energy sectors including contributions to more than 15 offshore wind farms.

Pioneer Consulting, based in Boston, Massachusetts offers a comprehensive set of services for subsea cable systems, including market and technical studies, due diligence, engineering, project implementation, maintenance planning, and operational support.
