Marine equipment and engineering services provider Okeanus Science & Technology has expanded its fleet of oceanographic winches to become the largest of its kind in the world. Available for rent or sale, the fleet supports projects globally with winches designed to meet the needs of survey companies, environmental contractors and scientific researchers.

Oceanographic professionals and offshore surveyors can now select from an international pool of winches, from 2HP to 125HP with over 6,000 meters of cable capacity. The expanded fleet enhances Okeanus’ ability to service the growing number of deepwater sampling and survey campaigns.

“The expansion of our ‘off-the-shelf’ winch fleet is a huge milestone for Okeanus,” said Benton LeBlanc, Managing Director at Okeanus. “Our goal has always been to be the single source for customers, providing all of the tools they need to complete projects safely, on time, and within budget. Our expanded fleet, and our strict QA/QC standards for our rental equipment, has positioned Okeanus to be that single source.”

Okeanus provides turnkey, packaged solutions that can include all of the equipment needed for environmental sampling and survey projects, including sensors, water and sediment sampling equipment and the launch and recovering deck systems. Customers are able to operate more efficiently with Okeanus’ ready-to-go winches and survey packages. These off-the-shelf systems can be rented, long-term leased or purchased depending on project needs.
