TE to Showcase New Wet-mate Connector

TE Connectivity (TE) said it will display a selection of products from its underwater portfolio at its SEACON booth at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, September 5-8, 2017. Among its many connector systems, TE will specifically feature the new HydraElectric wet-mate connector.

TE’s SEACON portfolio includes more than 2,500 underwater electrical and fiber optic connectors for complete submerged connectivity systems. As the oil and gas industry continues to face new challenges with deeper drilling and harsher temperatures and pressures, TE said it continues to develop new technologies with advanced capabilities, providing more reliable connections.

The new HydraElectric wet-mate connector has a modular construction and is available in industry standard panel, bulkhead and stab plate configurations. TE’s HydraElectric wet-mate connectors are designed for use in electrical and signal distribution networks in subsea control systems. These connectors meet the latest industry standards, including ISO13628-6 and API 17F-SEAFOM TSD-02; Statoil TR2390 Ver2 and Total GS EP SPS 021 Rev. 07; and Ethernet protocols, such as CAN Bus compatibility.
