Swathe Services Takes Over as HYPACK Distributor

Swathe Services will take on responsibility for sales and maintenance of HYPACK software solutions in the U.K. and Ireland following the closure of HYPACK’s U.K. partner Del Norte Technology.

U.S. company HYPACK – A Xylem Brand is a supplier of hydrographic survey and data processing software for single beam, multibeam, side scan sonar and many other applications in the hydrographic survey and dredging industries.

Swathe Services, the Cornwall, U.K. based hydrographic survey services company specializing in Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES) surveying, takes over HYPACK distributor duties for Del Norte, which closed with the retirement of its Managing Director, Laurie Smith. Del Norte ceased trading in July 2018.

A spokesperson from HYPACK said, “Del Norte grew the market from a handful of customers to over 200 HYPACK users and 500 licenses. We now look to Swathe Services to build on the success of Del Norte and continue to grow our user base in the U.K.”

Swathe Services said it will continue to run biannual Multi-Beam Echo Sounder HYPACK training courses in the U.K. to improve surveyors’ knowledge and efficiency using HYPACK software. The hands-on courses cover hardware installation, calibration, data acquisition and post-processing using HYPACK/HYSWEEP.
