Teledyne Gavia Awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certificate

A global leader in the provision of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to the offshore survey sectors, Teledyne Gavia announced that its management system has been independently audited and confirmed as being in conformity with ISO 9001:2008.

The company Quality Management System (QMS) was audited by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in September 2013. The comprehensive audit covered every aspect of the QMS at Teledyne Gavia’s facility in Iceland where the Gavia Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is manufactured. Since Gavia was acquired in 2010, Teledyne has invested in the infrastructure, capital and people in Iceland, improving the Gavia AUV’s reliability, range of available survey sensors, and worldwide customer support network.

“Our ISO 9001:2008 certification demonstrates that Gavia follows a management system that is in conformity with the ISO 9001:2008 standard,” stated Stefan Reynisson, Director of Operations at Teledyne Gavia. This management system gives us the right tools to monitor our performance and enables us to develop and deliver subsea survey equipment that meets and exceeds customer expectations. The certification requires both on-going internal audits of our procedures and processes, as well as independent annual audits which support our continuous improvement drive."

The Gavia Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is a modular, highly versatile, low-logistics subsea survey solution. The Gavia AUV can carry an array of sensors and custom payload modules to a survey site in up to 1,000m water depth for research, monitoring, survey or surveillance tasks. Teledyne Gavia supplies AUV systems to the oil and gas sector, oceanographic and environmental research institutes, and to the defense sector.
