Researchers at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and USV company SeaTrac have partnered to map and monitor hypoxia regions in the Gulf of Mexico. Having completed Phase One, which served as proof-of-concept, James Thompson, hydrographer at USM, and Hobie Boeschenstein, director of operations and business development at SeaTrac, sat down to discuss Phase Two—what worked, what didn’t work, and where they go from here.
