UTEC Acquires Star Net Geomatics

UTEC – with a global footprint comprising 11 offices around the world including Aberdeen, Scotland – has acquired Star Net Geomatics Ltd., which has its headquarters in Livingston, Scotland and an operational office in Milton Keynes, England.

The move capitalizes on a natural and highly complementary fit between the two companies and provides a unique opportunity to enhance and increase the range of laser scanning, dimensional control and 3D asset management services available through the iSite portal to UTEC’s global offshore and onshore clients.

Star Net is a U.K.-based international company that provides a wide range of surveying, inspection and design services worldwide to the oil and gas, telecommunication, renewables, civil engineering and nuclear sectors.

Star Net offers a turnkey model for telecommunication and broadcast infrastructure site development, maintenance and upgrade and is a pioneer in the use of laser scanning technology as an innovative 3D virtual asset management solution that is now offered to the offshore energy sector.

UTEC is an independent survey companies and provides a wide range of survey services including offshore positioning and construction support, geophysical and AUV surveys, dimensional control surveys, laser scanning and 3D modeling, and geotechnical sampling.  UTEC has offices located around the world including: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Italy, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.
