3D Mobile Laser Scanner for ABP Humber

ABP Humber continues to increase their technology for Hydrographic surveying in their ports and harbors with the purchase of a new Carlson Merlin Lidar Scanner supplied by Swathe Services.The Merlin is a vessel-based 3D mobile laser scanner system developed specifically for coastal, offshore and inland waterway surveying. Swathe Services Provides New Product to ABP Humber

Swathe Services has announced a new bespoke custom Peli-case product which has been designed to fit the surface components of an R2SONIC Multi-Beam Echo-Sounder (MBES) SIM box and Inertial Navigation System.  This product is specifically designed for use in open boats such as ABP Humber’s 5 meter RIB.  The Peli-case incorporates all the required bulkhead connectors for external cable fittings; an inverter for operating off a DC battery power and a shrouded cooling system.  As part of this small boat solution, ABP Humber also purchased a bespoke designed and built transom transducer

Holmes Joins Swathe Services

Ex naval captain and marine consultant Jon Holmes has joined Swathe Services as business development manager.The U.K. based hydrographic survey services company said created the new role to maintain and increase product sales and services as well as manage long-term strategic growth. Holmes was made ship’s captain of six naval vessels during his full career as a hydrographic surveyor. After his time with the Navy, he worked at the University of Plymouth’s Hydrographic Academy and then as a marine consultant.

Swathe Services announced that Oceanscan has recently made a significant investment for an R2Sonic 2022 digital wideband multibeam system with integrated I2NS (POS MV Wavemaster) INS.    The Sonic 2022 is portable, the compact form factor making it ideal for integration into AUV, ROV, or small boat operations with a range up to 400m of water.    The 3,000m-rated Sonic 2022 unit is fitted with the 700 kHz UHR Option, Truepix backscatter and raw water column detect, making it an ideal high-resolution sonar. Ports of Jersey in the U.K. has taken delivery of a new Multi-Beam system from Swathe Services. Swathe Services Named HYPACK Dealer for UK, Ireland

Swathe Services announced that they are now a HYPACK dealer for the U.K. and Ireland.   This means that they can now offer HYPACK hydrographic survey software to customers purchasing R2Sonic packages and also to anyone operating within the offshore industry.   The HYPACK 2016 software system provides surveyors with all of the tools required to design surveys, process data, reduce it and generate a high quality end product.  It can be used for a wide range of tasks, from collecting hydrographic survey data or environmental data to simply positioning a vessel in an engineering project.

Swathe Services, CEE Hydrosystems Ink Distribution Deal

Hydrographic survey single beam echo sounder manufacturer CEE HydroSystems, with offices in Sydney Australia and San Diego, U.S., has entered into a new 2016 distributor agreement with Truro, U.K. based Swathe Services, hydrographic survey instrumentation sales and support specialists. The appointment is the latest in a series of new agency agreements with the goal of further promoting the new CEE echo sounder systems for marine and freshwater survey environments.
