Dron & Dickson Grows Presence in Middle East with Office Expansion

Dron & Dickson has announced a move to new premises for its Abu-Dhabi based subsidiary, Totus Energy.

Totus Energy, an electrical and instrumentation contractor, specializing in the provision of project services for the oil and gas and marine and industrial sectors, has moved into a new office and warehouse complex almost double the size of its previous premises.

Since its acquisition by Dron & Dickson in October 2012, Totus Energy has seen its staffing levels grow by almost 25%. With plans for continued recruitment and ongoing expansion the new premises will allow Totus Energy to undertake larger contracts and operate multiple teams.

Previously an electrical and instrumentation (E&I) focussed company, Totus Energy will now incorporate Ex electrical inspections and an Ex materials division to supply the maintenance and refurbishment market, in addition to supporting the company’s own E&I projects.

The office and warehouse expansion will facilitate the introduction of new capabilities including an electrical assembly division and competency training. The newly acquired warehouse space will house hazardous area electrical products, allowing Totus Energy to take full advantage of its prime location in Abu Dhabi.

Stuart Bell, managing director of Totus Energy, said: “This is an incredibly important move for the company, as it places Totus Energy in a position to move forward with increased business as well as a new corporate image. The new office and warehouse puts us in a setting that displays our professionalism as well as our continued commitment to the region.

“The office and warehouse move allows us to expand our brand and capabilities. This will put us in a position to take on more challenging jobs with increased manpower. We look forward to welcoming clients and business partners to our new location.”

Colin Maver, group director of Dron & Dickson, said: “When we acquired Totus Energy last year, we knew the company had a lot of potential and the ability to offer exemplary service to both new and existing customers. This expansion will elevate the company to a whole new level, facilitating continued growth and long-term prosperity.”

Dron & Dickson employs more than 300 people both off and onshore and has a network of bases in Aberdeen, Hull, Lowestoft, Stirling, Brazil, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The company provides a wide range of services, which include the design, specification, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment in hazardous areas both on and offshore.

In addition to targeting growth in the oil and gas sector, Dron & Dickson operates in the renewables and decommissioning markets. It also works in a variety of other sectors of industry ranging from pharmaceuticals to distilleries. The company offers a full range of life-cycle solutions and holds numerous supply agreements providing competitive contract prices, matched inventory, spend analysis, KPI reporting and technical support.
