Greensea, creator of the universal marine industry operating platform OPENSEA, has hired Geoffrey Abbott as its new robotics engineer, responsible for advancing Greensea’s user interface and vehicle control systems for original equipment manufacturer products.

As a robotics engineer at Greensea, Abbott will help further the company’s ability to easily integrate, configure and deploy its technology across vehicles and sensors in the marine industry.

Abbott was previously a software development manager at MyWebGrocer, where he led a team in the Rapid Application Development Group. His experience also includes partnership in a local software development company and a teaching position in advanced programming at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. Abbott earned his B.S. degree in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science at the University of Vermont.

Ben Kinnaman, Greensea CEO and President, said, “We actively seek engineers and programmers with varied knowledge to enhance our team’s perspective. Geoff’s experience owning a business, and his advanced mathematics capabilities, make him a great addition.”
