Liquid Robotics Adds Three to Strategic Advisory Board

Liquid Robotics, developer of long-duration, unmanned ocean robots, announced the addition of three U.S. defense and oceanographic luminaries to their Strategic Advisory Board (SAB). The new members will join the existing advisory board comprised of 18 industry experts across the defense, foreign affairs, communications/technology and science industries.

The new advisors are:
  • Admiral Timothy J. Keating, United States Navy (Ret.), former Commander of the United States Pacific Command whose mission was to preserve the security and stability of the Asia-Pacific region with an area of responsibility for over 3.4 billion people and half the surface of the earth.
  • General Walter “Skip” Sharp, United States Army (Ret.), former Commander of the United Nations Command, Republic of Korea – United States Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea. As the Commander, General Sharp was responsible for the unified command structure for the multinational military forces supporting South Korea (the Republic of Korea or ROK).
  • Dr. Francisco Chavez, Senior Scientist and Biological Oceanographer, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI). As a world-renowned expert in biological oceanography and founding member of MBARI, Dr. Chavez has been honored for his research on the impact of climate variability on oceanic ecosystems and global carbon cycling.

“As we work to help address some of the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific region, Adm. Keating, Gen. Sharp, and Dr. Chavez’s expertise and counsel will be invaluable to our continued success.” said Gary Gysin, President and CEO of Liquid Robotics. “It’s a tremendous honor to have these individuals join our SAB.”

With escalating regional tensions, illegal fishing and impacts of climate change, Liquid Robotics is actively working across the Asia-Pacific region to help customers more effectively manage, understand and protect their coastlines.

"I am delighted to join Liquid Robotics as an advisor,” said Admiral Timothy Keating. “Liquid Robotics offers an innovative, cutting-edge capability that provides real-time information on surface and sub-surface activity across vast reaches of the world’s oceans.”
