Regatta Raises £5,550 for Sail 4 Cancer

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) is pleased to announce an unprecedented level of charitable contributions for Sail 4 Cancer, the recipient of ISS’s Annual U.K. Regatta, held this past weekend, June 7-9, 2013. With support from the ISS racing fleet, MTN Satellite Communications (through Pinmar Charities) and Airship, Sail 4 Cancer will receive a total £5550 in donations.

“Kerry Pettitt at MTN said they couldn’t find a prize for the raffle, but instead donated £4,000 from their Pinmar Charities fund. The race itself generated £1,050 through the generous contributions of sailors and Alan Bernardi of Airship added a further £500,” said Ken Hickling, ISS President and organizer of the annual event.

The winner of the 2013 ISS U.K. Regatta is IconConnect, who also won the Ladies Race. Strong showings by BMT Nigel Gee, Laurent Giles and H2 Design added excitement. A total of 11 one-design boats raced, convening on Friday, June 7 in Hamble and racing Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9.
