Spirit Energy Hires Shearwater for CCS Seismic Survey in UK
UK-based oil and gas firm Spirit Energy has awarded a contract to Shearwater Geoservices to conduct a seismic survey in the East Irish Sea, as part of the Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) carbon capture and storage (CCS) project.The six-week operation is scheduled for the summer of 2024 and will be Shearwater’s fifth CCS survey in the last two years.It relates to Spirit Energy’s recent carbon storage license received from the UK’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) in May 2023…

TGS Getting Ready for Multi-Client 3D Survey Offshore Brazil
Energy data and intelligence firm TGS has outlined plans for the start of Pelotas Norte Phase I multi-client 3D survey in the Pelotas Basin, offshore southern Brazil.Phase I will encompass approximately 14,800 square kilometers across 21 exploration blocks, the majority of which lie in un-held acreage expected to be included in upcoming bid rounds. Teledyne Oceanscience, in partnership with Teledyne Odom Hydrographic, unveiled the first public demonstration of a multibeam echosounder-equipped Z-Boat 1800 autonomous remote survey boat at the U.S. Hydro 2015 Conference. The 1.8-meter distinctive yellow survey boat is found in action all over the world conducting single-beam surveys in rivers, lakes and industrial water. The Z-Boat is typically used when access is restricted or conditions are unsafe for a manned vessel.
