Seatronics, an Acteon company, has formed a new partnership with Norwegian subsea tooling firm LateraL AS.

The new agreement will provide Seatronics’ global customer base with access to the FlexiCal product line. FlexiCal is an ROV mounted caliper that allows for direct measurements from point-to-point with real-time readout. Accurate live measurements provide clients with the knowledge needed to make swift decisions regarding their assets, as the measurements are taken without the need for post-processing. The caliper is frequently used for measuring wear and corrosion on mooring chains, but also performs excellently on flanges, plates, structures and numerous other subsea assets.

Phil Middleton, group managing director, Seatronics, said, "In this tight market, where there is a focus on asset integrity, Seatronics’ customers are demanding technology that will provide reliable, repeatable data, quickly. The FlexiCal is a proven system, which boasts an impressive track record. LateraL AS has several other innovative products, which we plan to bring to a wider market within this partnership."

Keith Robertson, technical manager, LateraL AS, added, “LateraL AS has joined forces with Seatronics and looks forward to developing the relationship with access to other LateraL products. Furthermore, in addition to the FlexiCal product, an additional product, FlexiClean, (the tool of choice for pre-cleaning prior to FlexiCal use and high efficiency marine growth removal from any subsea asset) will also be available for rental from Seatronics’ global bases, with immediate availability.”

The addition of LateraL products further enhances the ROV tooling capabilities available from Seatronics in conjunction with Acteon sister company, J2 Subsea.
