In a move to align itself more closely with parent company Technip, subsea umbilical manufacturer DUCO has revealed a new brand.

On Monday, September 22, DUCO Ltd. in Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. became Technip Umbilicals Ltd., and on Tuesday, September 30, DUCO Inc. in Houston, Texas became Technip Umbilicals Inc., respectively. Sister companies Angoflex and Asiaflex Products, while preserving their names, will also sit under the Technip Umbilicals umbrella.

The rebranding to Technip Umbilicals links all entities more closely together with Technip and incorporates their global presence, strong vertical integration, in-house technologies, worldwide leadership and first-class assets for the entire brand.

These changes have been driven by the recent opening of the world’s most capable steel tube umbilical assembly plant and dedicated research and development facility.

This expansion is aimed to further strengthen the existing global leadership position for designer and supplier of umbilical systems. As the business focus has evolved, the global branding of parent company Technip will be adopted by the Technip Umbilicals group. The groups’ shared values of safety, quality and delivery of projects will be embraced. Customer focus and the integrated and sustainable project approach will also continue and be further enhanced to ensure customer project success.

Technip Umbilicals Managing Director, Jean-Louis Rostaing, said, “The Technip Umbilicals name change is an exciting time for both our business and clients. We will continue to further our industry leading technologies, whilst constantly ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality and delivery are met. Under our new branding, we will continue to take the energy industry further while ensuring best practice, global leadership and overall capabilities. Rebranding is also another opportunity to continue consolidating and developing best practices across our four umbilical units.

“The DUCO brand will remain a strong part of our heritage. However, as the business focus has developed, this is the perfect time to evolve and move on together as a global organization at this exciting time.”
