Eco Wave Power's Wave Energy Project Connects to Israel's Power Grid

Eco Wave Power Global, a wave energy developer, said Tuesday that its station at the Port of Jaffa in Tel Aviv, EWP-EDF One, had officially connected to Israel’s national electrical grid – making it the first wave energy project to deliver electricity to the country’s power supply. The wave energy system installed at the Port of Jaffa comprises ten floaters along the Port of Jaffa’s pre-existing breakwater. Each floater connects directly to Eco Wave Power’s land-based energy conversion unit, which enables easy access for operational maintenance and upgrades. Now, the

Holy Land Shipwreck Reveals Tenacity of Ancient Traders as Empires Shifted

An ancient shipwreck found off the shore of Israel and loaded with cargo from all over the Mediterranean shows that traders from the West still came to port even after the Islamic conquest of the Holy Land, researchers say.A surprise storm? Sharp-eyed Diver Recovers Crusader Sword from Med Seabed

A sword believed to have belonged to a crusader who sailed to the Holy Land almost a millennium ago has been recovered from the Mediterranean seabed thanks to an eagle-eyed amateur diver, the Israel Antiquities Authority said on Monday.Though encrusted with marine organisms, the meter-long blade, hilt and handle were distinctive enough to notice after undercurrents apparently shifted sands that had concealed it.The location, a natural cove near the port city of Haifa, suggested it had served as a shelter for seafarers, said Kobi Sharvit, director of the authority's marine archaeology unit."Thes
