McDermott and Baker Hughes Install Subsea Infrastructure at Ichthys Field

Engineering company McDermott and Baker Hughes have completed the installation of subsea infrastructure at the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) field in northern Australia.The work was conducted for Inpex as part of the contract McDermott and Baker Hughes secured in 2019.The scope of the contract included engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of umbilicals, risers and flowlines (URF), a subsea production system comprised of a new 7-inch vertical Christmas tree (VXT) system, all forming a subsea well gathering system (GS4) tied back to the existing Ichthys Explorer central

McDermott Scoops Contract for CCS Project Offshore Malaysia

Offshore engineering and construction firm McDermott has been awarded a contract from Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) for the Kasawari Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, located offshore Sarawak in East Malaysia.Under the scope of the contract, McDermott will perform transportation and the structural installation of a 138-kilometer (85 miles) pipeline section, a 15,000 metric tonne (MT) CCS platform jacket, and bridge connecting to the existing central processing platform.The installation activities will be performed by one of McDermott's heavy-lift and pipelay vessels."Set

McDermott Bags Major Subsea Pipeline, Cable Order in Qatar

Offshore installation firm McDermott has secured a major subsea pipelines and cables engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) project from Qatargas.The award is related to the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Fuel Gas Pipeline and Subsea Cables Project, COMP1. Ashtead Technology Names Gillespie as Commercial Director

UTEC Wraps Survey Work for McDermott

On 25 February, UTEC, a global surveying company in the Acteon subsea services group, completed consecutive as-built and post-construction, anchor-debris-clearance surveys using remotely operated vehicles (ROV) for McDermott International.UTEC mobilized a DP2 offshore support vessel in early December 2019 with work- and observation-class ROVs and a nearshore survey work boat for the as-built campaign.
