Viridien Completes Reimaging of BM-S-2 Multi-Client Survey in Santos Basin
Viridien has successfully completed the BM-S-2 seismic reimaging project in the southern Santos Basin, delivering a modern, high-fidelity 3D dataset across 8,468 sq km to support growing exploration activity in one of the most strategic, emerging offshore regions of Brazil. The project upgrades a large legacy survey with the latest advanced imaging technologies, including time-lag full waveform inversion (TL-FWI), to provide clearer definition of post-salt stratigraphy, improved visibility of potential direct hydrocarbon indicators (DHIs), and new insights into underexplored pre-salt plays. The reimaged
PXGEO Inks Two Seismic Acquisition Contracts with Petrobras off Brazil
Marine geophysical services company PXGEO has signed two significant contracts with Petrobras-led consortia, to deliver seismic data acquisition and monitoring services in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The projects will run consecutively in 2026 with PXGEO deploying its proprietary MNode 4C ocean bottom node (OBN) technology as part of the scope. The company’s MNode technology delivers a 300-day battery life, enabling extended deployment time, which is well suited for larger, more complex surveys. The enhanced operating time means surveys can run uninterrupted for extended periods, reducing
MDL to Support Maersk Supply Service for Work at Mero Field Off Brazil
Maersk Supply Service has awarded Scottish flex-lay specialist Maritime Developments (MDL) a solution-development scope in the Mero block in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The scope entails the development of an integrated spread of equipment and expert personnel to support installation of a dynamic riser assembly, which will enable connection to a grid of Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) sensors over wells of Mero 1 and Mero 2 projects in the basin’s ultra-deep waters.Besides the dynamic cable riser, complete with DUTA and pigtails, the PRM network also consists of backbone cables
Strohm Secures Major Pipe Supply Contract with TotalEnergies for Brazil Ops
Strohm has won a contract from TotalEnergies for the supply of thermoplastic composite pipeline (TCP) flowlines for an offshore field located in the Santos Basin, marking the largest commercial award for pipe supply in company’s 16-year history and a first project in the Brazilian pre-salt.Due for installation in 2026 at a water depth of 2,200 meters, Strohm’s TCP solution has been selected for the first time for flowlines to be installed in ultra deep water.Qualified for 30 years’ design life, this technology is immune to corrosion, including the Carbon dioxide-induced stress
Sapura Ônix Heads to Atlanta Field to Install Subsea Equipment
The specialized vessel Sapura Ônix is on its way to Atlanta Field in Santos Basin, offshore Brazil, where it will carry out the installation of subsea equipment to support the oil production, targeted for August 2024.Brazilian oil and gas company Enauta said the Sapura Ônix vessel is en route to install multiphase pumps (MPPs), umbilicals for power and data transmission, and production risers, connecting the wells’ subsea infrastructure to FPSO Atlanta. The FPSO Atlanta, chartered and operated by Malaysia’s Yinson Production, is currently being anchored on site, following its
Final Subsea System Components for Atlanta FPSO En Route to Brazil
The final pieces of subsea system equipment that will support the production from Enauta’s floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit Atlanta at Brazil's Santos Basin have been shipped. The final pieces of subsea system equipment that will support the production from Enauta’s floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit Atlanta at Brazil's Santos Basin have been shipped. The flexible pipeline system, the final subsea system component that will support the first oil production at the Atlanta field, set sail from England to Brazil on March 15, 2024, Brazilian oil
Enauta Set to Receive Key Equipment for Atlanta Field Offshore Brazil
The first multiphase pumping subsea system (MPP), that will support oil and gas production at the Atlanta field in Brazil's Santos Basin, has been shipped from Norway, Brazilian oil and gas company Enauta has informed. The MPP, manufactured by OneSubsea, was loaded on January 21, 2024, in Norway ahead of shipping for Brazil. The delivery of the equipment according to the schedule highlighted one of the key challenges to reach FPSO Atlanta’s first oil aimed by August 2024, according to Enauta, which is the operator of the Atlanta field.“According to data presented at the Enauta Day
CRP Subsea Put to Work at Brazilian Oil Field
CRP Subsea, an AIS company, has secured a ‘substantial contract’ for the supply of distributed buoyancy modules (DBMs) to a deepwater oil field project in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.CRP Subsea secured was hired by a leading energy technology company, whose name was not disclosed. The company DBMs will be utilised on a flexible production riser transporting oil from the subsea facility to the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel above.Specifically engineered, the DBMs will establish a dynamic subsea lazy-wave configuration to mitigate the top tension on the FPSO.
PXGEO Bags 4D OBN Project in Brazil
Marine geophysical service provider PXGEO on Monday announced it has secured a contract with Brazilian state-owned energy company Petrobras for a 4D Monitor Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) survey in the Santos Basin, Brazil. The survey is to be acquired in water depths up to 2,200 meters with a duration of approximately seven months.
