TE Connectivity announced Tuesday it has launched its portfolio of flexible, abrasion-resistant Raychem CANbus (Controller Area Network) high-speed copper cables, offering a ruggedized means of transmitting data at speeds up to 1 Mb/s for harsh environment applications.

The high performance 120Ω twisted pair cables are available in constructions that meet SAE J1939 and SAE J1939-11 and -15 requirements. Operating temperatures range from minus 65°C to 200°C (depending on construction).

“In addition to designing a cable that is easier to terminate, compared to tape-wrap designs, we offer a variety of material choices versus a one-size-fits-all solution,” said Lynden Bajus, product manager for TE’s Aerospace, Defense and Marine division. “We can draw on a diverse portfolio of materials to design a solution around an industry’s needs and environmental conditions.”
