Verlume, a provider of intelligent subsea power, communications and control, has appointed Jay Parle as Head of Engineering.

Jay joins Verlume with more than 20 years of engineering experience spanning subsea controls, offshore renewables, carbon capture and storage and nuclear energy. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary engineering teams, developed engineering systems from concept through to commissioning, and delivered offshore projects in some of the world’s most demanding operating environments.

Jay’s experience encompasses systems engineering, subsea controls, mechanical engineering, project delivery, technology development and engineering management, alongside a strong commercial understanding gained through supporting business development and the successful delivery of customer-focused engineering solutions.

As Head of Engineering, Jay will lead Verlume’s engineering function, overseeing the continued delivery and development of the company’s field-proven subsea power platform and intelligent systems integration capability across its core markets globally, while strengthening the engineering function to support continued commercial growth.

“I’m excited to be joining Verlume. The company has established itself as a leader in intelligent subsea power, communications and control, with field-proven technology being deployed across multiple offshore sectors," Jay said. “I am looking forward to working with the team to build on that momentum and support the successful delivery of commercial projects that provide customers with reliable, integrated solutions for demanding subsea operations.”

August marks the annual hydrographic e-magazine and the opportunity to highlight some of the global research underway in our world’s oceans.
