Oceanside Harbor Dredging Begins
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District began its annual dredging of the Oceanside Harbor inlet starting April 19.Manson Construction Company of Seattle is dredging the channel to its authorized federal depth of 20 feet. Dredging is expected to be completed prior to Memorial Day weekend.About 250,000 cubic yards of beach-quality sand will be removed from the harbor’s entrance channel and placed along Oceanside’s beaches.
Arctic Rays Releases Mako 4K
Arctic Rays, LLC has released Mako for use on multiple platforms, including ROVs, HOVs, ASVs, landers and fixed platforms. Mako has an on-board real-time clock with scheduler, which can be programmed in advance and allowed to run independently off of its internal battery or external power. The internal scheduler can also be used to synchronize and control any of Arctic Rays’ Dragonfish series lights.
MUM's the Word: New UUV Takes Shape in Germany

Offshore Brazil Contract for PLSV 'Kommandor 3000'
Subsea 7 S.A. has been awarded a contract by Petrobras worth in excess of U$350 million for operation of the Pipe Lay Support Vessel (PLSV). The contract is on a day rate basis for five years. Wärtsilä to Supply FSU, Shuttle Tanker, Inert Gas Systems
Wärtsilä is to supply inert gas systems for a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) on Norway's Heidrun offshore oil & gas field, and for two supporting shuttle tankers. The FSU is owned by Statoil, the Norwegian state owned energy company, and the tankers by AET Tanker Holdings, the Singapore based petroleum transportation company. All three vessels are being built by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in South Korea. The Wärtsilä contract with SHI was signed in February 2013.

Ulstein Delivers Fourth PSV in PX121 Series
Ulstein Verft delivered Blue Thunder, the fourth of six medium-sized platform supply vessels of the PX121 design from Ulsteinto Blue Ship Invest, on Monday, May 13, 2013. Owned by Blue Ship Invest, a wholly-owned company in Ulstein Group, the platform supply vessel (PSV) is commercially and technically under the management of Atlantic Offshore. Nautilus Announces Closing of Rights Offering
Nautilus Minerals Inc. announced that it has received gross proceeds of C$40 million before expenses as a result of the successful closing of its rights offering through the issuance of 200,000,000 common shares at a subscription price of C$0.20 per common share. Kongsberg Wins Drilling Rig Contracts in China and Korea
CIMC Yantai Raffles in China and STX Offshore & Shipbuilding in Korea have selected extensive Dynamic Positioning (DP), Automation, new generation Safety System, Integrated Navigation, Hydroacoustic positioning and latest riser management solutions from Kongsberg. The contracts are for two new Frigstad D90 Design drilling rigs and one Bassoe Technology BT-UDS Design drillship. The total value of the contracts is in excess of MNOK 150.
