New Underwater Housing from Gates

Gates' family of durable, ‘bulletproof’ digital cinema housings now includes the Arri Alexa cameras.

Gates Underwater Products announced the launch of its new ALEXA underwater housing.

According to Gates, the ALEXA, consistent with other Gates cinema housings, comprises many recognizable features:

  • Simple, reliable fingertip controls;
  • Clean, uncomplicated design is reliable and field serviceable;
  • Gates Precision Ports for no compromises image quality;
  • Support for over 70 PL mount lenses with Gates unique Lens Gear Drive system;
  • Adjustable trim weight system provides perfect buoyancy / balance;
  • An extensive line of accessories including HD-SDI surface feed, remote follow focus, tripod / tripod mount, diver comm, and more;
  • Adjustable Handle Grips for perfect hand positioning;
  • TVL55 Monitor housing for accurate framing and focus:
  • Gates Seal Check II will verify housing integrity before entering the water.
  • Customization to suit unique applications.

The Gates ALEXA housing comes in two versions: ALEXA XT housing for the Arri Alexa EV (classic) and Alexa XT cameras; and the ALEXA XT PLUS housing for the Alexa XT Plus camera. Each housing version was designed for ideal control layout, making underwater operation easy.

The ALEXA housing is backed by Gates’ service, two-year renewable warranty and factory direct support.

The ALEXA Housing, available from Q4 2014, will support Arri Alexa EV, XT and XT Plus camera models.
