UMass Dartmouth SMAST to Host Marine Technology Event

The Marine and Oceanographic Technology Network (MOTN) and the New England Section of the Marine Technology Society (MTS) will provide an opportunity for to see and learn about current technology research, meet graduate and undergraduate students, discuss internship opportunities, learn about educational options for current employees and recent graduates, be updated on the latest with MOTN and MTS and network with marine technology colleagues at UMass Dartmouth’s School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST) on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.

Location: UMass Dartmouth School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST), 706 Rodney French Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02744

The day’s schedule is as follows:

4 p.m. - Arrival, registration, refreshments
4:30-5:30 p.m. - Facility Tours; Acoustic tank, wet labs, etc.; displays about SMAST technology and degree programs; company displays: limited space, no cost, please reserve.
5:30-6 p.m. - Introduction by: Harlan Doliner, Pres., MOTN & Chris Jakubiak, Pres., MTS New England Chapter; welcoming remarks by:  Dr. Steven Lohrenz, Dean of SMAST.
6-7 p.m. - Networking: appetizers, beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee.

SMAST is asking that interested visitors RSVP by November 8, 2013 to Sue Silva, SMAST: [email protected]. Sue will also take display space reservations. The event is free for students and $30 for nonstudents.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available: 2 x $250 for Drinks; 1 x $250 to cover students. Sponsors will receive best spots for displays, name on promotional materials and signs in the lobby and on the bar. To sponsor, contact: Harlan Doliner, [email protected].
