Shearwater, TotalEnergies Ink Long-Term Marine Seismic Deal
Shearwater Geoservices and TotalEnergies have signed a three-year firm capacity reservation agreement (CRA) for worldwide marine seismic streamer acquisition services. The CRA reflects the longstanding relationship between TotalEnergies and Shearwater straddling across geophysical data collection and analysis, supporting exploration effort, production monitoring and carbon capture and storage activities. The CRA guarantees a minimum of 18 vessel months of activity for Shearwater’s high-end seismic fleet.“Shearwater seeks to evolve the global marine seismic market through technology innovation

Shearwater Nets ExxonMobil’s Contract for 4D OBN Survey Off Guyana
Offshore seismic services firm Shearwater Geoservices has secured large deepwater 4D ocean bottom node (OBN) reservoir surveillance program by ExxonMobil Guyana.Under the contract, Shearwater will begin a six-month survey starting in the first half of 2025.The field unit will be comprised of a Shearwater seismic vessel as source vessel, and a dual ROV vessel for node deployment.“Shearwater is pleased to be selected for this significant 4D OBN contract in one of the world’s fastest growing offshore oil and gas regions following our recent successful completion of 4D towed streamer operations

EMGS Lines Up New CSEM Survey Offshore India
Norwegian offshore survey services firm Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has secured a controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) survey offshore India. The survey is expected to have a contract value of approximately $10 million, subject to the issuance of a callout order. The letter of award (LOA) does not include a minimum scope of work. The Atlantic Guardian will commence acquisition following completion of the previously announced survey in India. The company expects the final contract execution to take place within the next several weeks.

Shearwater Kicks Off Second Round of Pelotas Basin Surveys
Shearwater Geoservices has started the second season of acquisition for the Pelotas Basin multi-client 3D seismic survey in Brazil, conducted in partnership with Searcher Seismic. The new acquisition will be the sixth multi-client 3D project for the joint venture and will utilize the SW Empress, one of the world’s most advanced seismic vessels, to expand the Pelotas survey area beyond 10,000 sq.km.The project is expected to provide explorers with critical insights into the geological structure of the Pelotas Basin by acquiring detailed 3D seismic data, with the aim of helping de-risk exploration

Shearwater to Proceed with 4D Survey for Petrobras in Campos Basin
Offshore seismic services firm Shearwater Geoservices has been given a go-ahead from Petrobras to start one of the two 4D projects covering the Jubarte and Tartaruga Verde fields in the Campos Basin area.Under the eight-month contract, announced in January 4, 2023, Shearwater will use its high-capacity vessel Oceanic Vega and will start imminently. The projects have been included in reported backlog since the award.“We look forward to the successful execution of these projects and to provide Petrobras with high-quality seismic data covering these important fields in the Campos Basin,” said

Shearwater Geoservices Lands Third Offshore Survey Job in India
Shearwater Geoservices has been awarded a large 2D towed streamer seismic survey by Oil India, covering 14,500 line kilometers on the East Coast of India in the Bay of Bengal. The project, scheduled to being early 2025, forms part of India’s National Seismic Program (NSP) and is expected to last around five months. To remind, Shearwater recently secured a contract with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) for a large 3D seismic survey off the east coast of India, and another large-scale 2D seismic survey on the continental shelf margin off the west coast of India.“This contract

Shearwater Geoservices Gets Another Seismic Survey in India
Shearwater Geoservices has secured a contract for a large-scale 2D seismic survey on the continental shelf margin off the west coast of India. The project, which will span 15,500 line-kilometres, demonstrates Shearwater's dedication to supporting India’s seismic exploration efforts.SW Thuridur will be conducting this 2D seismic survey for approximately five months, starting in the fourth quarter of 2024. This project, part of India’s National Seismic Program (NSP), plays an important role advancing India's strategic approach to map key un-appraised offshore areas. “At

Shearwater Geoservices Lands 3D Seismic Job Off India
Offshore seismic services firm Shearwater Geoservices has secured a contract with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) for a large 3D seismic survey off the east coast of India. The high-capacity Oceanic Sirius vessel will carry out the survey, covering an area of approximately 2,200 square kiilometers. The survey is expected to take approximately four months, starting in early 2025.“Our expertise in 3D seismic acquisition, combined with our track-record of 8 consecutive seasons of India operations, ensures that we are well positioned to deliver data in line with our clients exploratio

EMGS to Conduct CSEM Survey Offshore India
Norwegian offshore survey services firm Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has secured a contract for controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) offshore India. The survey is expected to have a contract value of approximately $10 million, including mobilization fee.The Atlantic Guardian will be deployed as part of the survey, and the vessel is expected to start transit from Norway in the fourth quarter of 2024.EMGS did not reveal the name of the client.CSEM is a marine geophysical method mapping the subsurface resistivity.
