TGS, PGS Team Up on Eastern Canada Seismic

TGS announces the expansion of its multi-client library offshore Eastern Canada with plans to acquire more than 36,000 km of 2D seismic data, in partnership with PGS, utilizing two vessels during the 2016 acquisition season. The M/V Sanco Spirit and M/V Atlantic Explorer, utilizing the PGS GeoStreamer technology, will acquire seismic and gravity data in the Labrador Sea, Newfoundland Orphan-Flemish Pass basins and Grand Banks areas. Data acquisition will commence during late May 2016.  Pre-processing of the initial GeoStreamer signal will be performed by PGS following which TGS will perform

as a first mover in Mexico and we are now very pleased to say that we have been successful in our endeavor. PGS views Mexico as a viable investment market for many years to come for the full suite of all our solutions."    These surveys will be acquired using PGS proprietary GeoStreamer technology and are supported by industry pre-funding.

Offshore Eastern Canada Seismic Survey Expansion by TGS

TGS apprises of the expansion of multi-client 2D surveys offshore Eastern Canada with plans to acquire more than 30,000 km of seismic data, in partnership with PGS, utilizing two vessels during the 2014 acquisition season. The M/V Sanco Spirit, utilizing the PGS GeoStreamer® technology, will acquire seismic and gravity data in the Labrador Sea and Northeast Newfoundland-Flemish Pass areas. Data acquisition will commence during June 2014. This project will provide valuable data covering expected Areas of Interest (AOIs) to be released by Canada's Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum

.   Upon completion, the survey will cover 25,000 km in this region of prolific oil discoveries including Hibernia, Terra Nova, Hebron, White Rose and the more recent Mizzen, Harpoon and Bay du Nord discoveries.  The survey will be acquired in partnership with PGS and utilizes PGS GeoStreamer® technology.   Final data will be available to clients during Q3 2014.

Three New Offshore Seismic Surveys for TGS

Labrador Sea 2D Infill survey covering 7,100 km will complement and infill the existing 22,167 km of 2D data acquired in 2011 and 2012. These surveys will further define and delineate the Henley, Chidley and Holton Basins. Both surveys will be acquired in partnership with PGS and utilize the PGS GeoStreamer® technology. Data acquisition will commence in August 2013 and initial data will be available to clients Q2 2014. All three surveys are supported by industry funding.
