New Products from OceanTools

  • MA500
  • OceanCAM
  • MA500 MA500
  • OceanCAM OceanCAM

OceanTools Ltd. debuted  two new products with the revamp of its MA500 Altimeter  and launch of OceanCAM subsea camera.

OceanTools recently completed a redesign of their popular MA500 Precision Altimeter. DSP electronics combined with frequency swept CHIRP technology are housed in a robust hard anodized aluminum housing rated to 3,000 meters as standard. The MA500D utilizes a new, highly efficient composite transducer array enabling altitude measurement with millimetric accuracy and resolution.

According to OceanTools, the MA500 may be used in a wide range of harsh environment altitude measuring applications such as assisting the safe navigation of subsea vehicles, deployment of structures to the seabed and the monitoring and measurement of sediment and ice. Up to 16 Altimeters may be connected on a single twisted pair to enable the deployment of large seabed structures and multi point monitoring of large areas of interest and hazardous environments.

Up to three MA500s can be controlled via operator display interface, with each individual altimeter’s output color coded for easy and accurate viewing. Outputs are viewed via multiple graphs or one single graph, with user definable sound velocity, units of measurement and maximum altitude range up to 30m.

The MA500 has various output formats including RS232, RS485, Analogue and NMEA-0183 Altitude, all outputs can be logged and replayed as required.

The new OceanCAM Standard Definition Camera is a robust, harsh environment unit utilizing the latest Super HAD CCD technology resulting in very high light sensitivity combined with superior definition.

Rated to 3,000 meters, OceanCAM is suitable for navigation, inspection and monitoring roles and is supplied in a hard anodized aluminum housing as standard. Controlled via auto select RS485 or RS232, OceanCAM has a wide range of features including:
•Zoom, Focus, Iris, White Balance
•Auto-focus, Auto-iris, Auto-white balance, Image Flip
•Umbilical set-up for length, video gain and HF gain
•Text overlay allowing 11 lines of 20 characters

OceanCAM’s internal text overlay function allows characters to be written over the image without the need or expense of a standalone video overlay system. Text can be edited for color, screen position and saved and deselected for later use.

The units Long-line driver will transmit the video signal up to a distance of 3,000 meters in 100 meters increments and includes an HF lift.

OceanCAM is operated via OceanTools proprietary control software SmartNET. This allows the simultaneous grouping and control of various OceanTools products including: OceanCAM, PT330 electric pan and tilt and OceanLED lights. The operator can, for example, control over the same twisted pair, a group consisting of one PT330, one OceanCAM and two OceanLEDs from a single integrated operator screen.
