Registration Open for Hydroid’s REMUS 100 Training Course
September’s five-day program to focus on basic operations and maintenance
Hydroid, Inc., a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and the leading manufacturer of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), today announced that registration is open for its REMUS 100 Operations and Training Course, to be held during the week of September 15-19, 2014. Based out of Hydroid’s facility in Pocasset, Mass, the course will focus on basic vehicle operations and maintenance, with Hydroid’s technicians walking participants through all aspects of the REMUS 100 system.
“We take great pride in our REMUS AUVs, and want to ensure that our customers have the skills and knowledge to fully utilize their unparalleled capabilities,” said Duane Fotheringham, President of Hydroid. “Our REMUS 100 Operations and Training Course provides users with a thorough guide to getting the most out of the vehicle, while also inviting them to experience our cutting-edge facility first hand.”
Hydroid’s intensive five-day course is designed for a variety of skill levels, from first-time AUV users to experienced operators looking for a refresher. Participants come away from the program with all the skills necessary to effectively operate a REMUS 100 system. Hydroid also offers customized two- to 10-day training sessions based on customers’ unique training needs.
Hydroid's REMUS AUVs are modular and can be fitted with a wide range of different sensors. They have been used for hydrographic surveys, harbor security operations, debris field mapping, scientific missions and many basic and applied research programs funded by ONR, DARPA and the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense and others. Hydroid has built and deployed more than 290 vehicles, and its AUVs are trusted by more than 17 navies around the world.
