Havyard Cancels Subsea Newbuild
Norwegian shipbuilder Havyard Ship Technology AS reports the cancelation of an order for an advanced subsea vessel placed by an undisclosed "international shipping company" in June last year. Hydrographic Surveys for MCA in the Shetland Islands
MMT has since 2006 been one of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency´s Civil Hydrography Program survey providers of high resolution multi-beam bathymetry, providing hydrographic data for updating nautical charts for safe navigation and efficient maritime transport. Currently MMT UK, based in Banbury Oxfordshire, is undertaking two hydrographic surveys in the Shetland Islands on behalf of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency.

OceanServer Reports High Demand for Iver3 AUV
OceanServer Technology has received eight new Iver3 AUV orders for delivery to a variety of survey, research, military and water quality organizations, the company announced today. The Iver3-580 AUV is the third generation AUV produced by OceanServer and builds on the Iver2-580 that has recently been discontinued after 10 years of service and over 200 systems shipped. Research related vehicles will be delivered to Penn State University Applied Research Laboratory and other undisclosed customers.

New Multibeam Z-Boat Demonstrated at US Hydro 2015
Teledyne Oceanscience, in partnership with Teledyne Odom Hydrographic, unveiled the first public demonstration of a multibeam echosounder-equipped Z-Boat 1800 autonomous remote survey boat at the U.S. Hydro 2015 Conference in National Harbor, Md. The 1.8-meter distinctive yellow survey boat is found in action all over the world conducting single-beam surveys in rivers, lakes and industrial water. ScanFish ROTVs Now Feature ‘3D’ Steering
The EIVA ScanFish remotely operated towed vehicle (ROTV) models have always been able to follow the seabed, keep a fixed depth, or undulate up and down through the water. Tideland Solar Buoys Mark Wrecks in Norwegian Arctic
Two SB-138P polyethylene buoys with solar-powered ML-140 LED lanterns from Tideland Signal are being used to mark wrecks in the approaches to the port of Narvik in the far north of Norway. Deepsea Challenger a Hit in Navy Museum
The record-breaking manned submersible was brought to the Navy Yard to be with the Trieste, which is housed in the National Museum of the United States Navy. The Navy museum says that a large number of school children stop by to see Deepsea Challenger, a submarine designed by James Cameron, Academy Award-winning film director and diver, and Ron Allum, Deepsea Challenger pilot.
